If your front spring wiggles where it fits into the frame, is it possible to squeeze the front frame truss together with C-clamps to lessen the wiggle?

That sounds like a personal question Bill. I'm not quite sure how to answer it.

I tried this with a 6" C-clamp. I could move the chassis truss even a fraction of an inch.
Maybe my arms are too skinny.....

My front spring clamp threads stripped out on my '26 coupe, allowing the spring to move to and fro within the front crossmember which opened up the channel quite a bit. I didn't try to squeeze the channel legs back together with a c-clamp but I was able to get the legs back together with the help of a small hand held sledge hammer, I then re-threaded the clamp threads with a smaller die and nut and fit the front spring up into the front crossmember with a new rubber cushion on top of it and tightened the clamp. Worked like a charm. Jim Patrick
