The Annual Leaf Peeper Tour sponsored by the Denver Model T Club is scheduled to Start to start on September 29th. from Loveland Colorado. The first day will be to Walden, Co.

Camerson Pass

Cascades

The second day will depart from Walden to Grand Lake, CO. We will pass through some of the best aspen color in Colorado on this day. We will Stay in cabins at the Grand Lake Lodge. The individual tour pictures will be taken in front of the cabin that Henry Ford stayed in when he visited Grand Lake. There is a plaque in front of the cabin that makes an excellent picture.

The next day if enough people wish we can do a short side trip to Kawuneeche Valley to view and photograph Elk and Moose.

We will then return to Walden Co. and the final banquet.

The last day we will return to Lovland and final good byes

Understand this is an easy driving tour, Robert Ducharme and I did the whole tour in one day. The roads are paved and have a wide paved shoulder and very little traffic. Many Ts make it every year with out auxiliary transmissions. The routes are easy, the steepest grade is a small 3.8 percent. The weather is the best time of year in Colorado, not too hot and not too cold,

At this point there will no tour fee. Denver is paying for the trouble truck and Robert Ducharme is furnishing the time and material for the tour booklet.

If you are tired of the same old flat land touring and the repetitious small town museums this is the tour you will enjoy.

Last year I was told that there was some local people that wanted to come, could not because they could not take time off from their jobs.
This year the tour is scheduled so that they can do the first day (Saturday) to Walden and return on Sunday to loveland so they will not miss any work time.
The of the tour will continue on to Grand Lake. Partial scene from the front porch of the Grand Lake Lodge.

I will try the image of the view from the front porch of the Grand Lake Lodge. By the way you can choose to eat dinner and breakfast on the front porch of the Lodge.

It looks like there will be some Ters that will do Trail Ridge to the top in Rocky Mountain national Park the day before the Leaf Peeper Tour. This is NOT Part of the Leaf Peeper Tour but is worth while for out of staters or locals that have never done Trail Ridge. Elavations start at 4,982 in Loveland and Continues to the top of Trail Ridge at 12,183. Trail Ridge is the Highest continuous road in the U.S. The route from Loveland to Estes Park is along the Big thompson river and very scenic, with towering granite cliffs.

If you stop at Sheep Meadows just above the town of Estes Park you will probably see native sheep. Also from Sheep meadows you can see some the road above.

Trail Ridge was voted the number one most scenic byway in the United States. If you ever remembered to bring a camera this is a day you will remember for life.

I did this drive in my '15 touring in 1989 and it was spectacular as Dave says.

I emailed out registration forms today to people who have requested them. At least I hope I did, I had a friend put the registraton form in my document file. I then emailed them out from the saved file or at least I think I did. I should have had my grand daugter email them. If you have requested a registration form and did not get it let me know and I will try again.

I am having a lot of trouble with the new photo company that took over Kodak files but I will try to post a picture of the City Park Lot in Estes. Its a rather long trip to the top of Trail Ridge and some may want to trailer to Estes and leave their pickup and trailer at the city parking lot. The parking spaces are huge because they save about 25 parking spaces for motor homes and trailers.
Please remember this trip is not part of the Leaf Peeper Tour but is offered to add to the tour.
