Hi,
I am new on here. Have a 26 roadster. Anyone near Gresham Oregon want to hang out and talk T's sometime? I have lots to learn about my T.
Thanks
Greg
Hey Keith Townsend...are you awake yet?
Welcome to the forum. It's a lot of fun, and a great source of information. I always tell new T owners the first Model T part they should buy are these:
The Ford manual and the MTFCA books will save you lots of grief, hassle, and dough.
We enjoy pictures here, so when you can post some photos of the roadster a bunch of people will like seeing them.
Lots of us live near Gresham! The Rose City Model T club is very active, and meets the first Thursday of every month. Welcome to the forum!
I have joined the RCMTC and made it to a couple meetings. Just logged on to this site and saw all the information available so I thought I would put it out there and see if anyone wanted to get together and talk. My T is actually coming along nicely. I don't want to hurt her.
Good! If you don't want to hurt her, also buy a lubrication chart when you acquire those books Steve suggested. Frame it out in your shop after you read it and commit to memory all the lube a Model T chassis needs. Welcome to the fraternity !!
Thanks guys,
It has been fun working on her. I look forward to driving her soon. All tips are always appreciated, I love to learn and listen to stories.
Greg
Here's a handy lube chart from the Touring T's of Texas website. I printed a copy on a 5" x 8" card and put it in my log book.
Yup
I'm here. Just got home.
Give me a call, Greg. 663-4040
I think we met at a meeting maybe last fall?
For these guys, I spell it Orygun, or they'll say, "OR-E-GONE"
: ^ )

Give me a call some time. I like talking T's 503-896-0046. I have a 1917 Speedster I am finishing for a trip to Bonneville Salt Flats this summer and a 1919 touring that I drive the snot out of.
Chris Becker
Thanks guys, I am at work now but will call
later today. Keith did I meet you @ the RCMTC meeting around October?
Kieth,
You are pretty close to that Will-A Metty river - right?
Be_Zero_Be
Bob--you know I am closer to the Will-A-Metty river than Keith; he's out there in the east where the wind blows down the Columbia Gorge all the time!
Greg--feel free to contact me as well; I am in Milwaukie.
Ken
Greg,
Erich here. We may have also met and talked at RCMTC meeting or tour. 360-896-8170 to talk or go for a drive or get a driving lesson, or eat lunch too. Mine is a 26 touring. I am in Vancouver U.S.A.
I have spoken with a couple of you. My home number is xxx-xxx-xxxx (removed at poster's request). Would like to talk T's
Greg
Greg, just called from work and found you were at work. Will call back this eve. What are you doing this Sat? We are going on a tour. Maybe you can ride along with us in my touring?
I can also be reached on cell xxx-xxx-xxxx (removed at poster's request). Leaving work early today.
Erich,
That sounds good Are you meeting at the Target in Wood Village?
Yes I am. I drive from Vancouver for every tour as I don't have a trailer.
A big thanks to Keith for coming over and showing me some things. I still have some bugs to work out but she is close.
Once again Thank you Keith.
It was good to see you again, and I was glad to be able to help you out.
Get that gas sediment bowl cleaned out, put a little charge into that battery, but some more lube in the rear end and take her for another spin.
Keep making your circles around a few more blocks and you will gain the confidence of your car, and a feel of how the Model T drives.
Remember, when you use the clutch, just push part way down. When you push it all the way down, the car keeps moving!
I hope you can make it to the Pancake Breakfast on Saturday. Even if you don't take your T, take your modern iron. Maybe there is a backseat available. My wife and some of the grandkids plan to go. I'll be at a scouting event with my son.
Here is Greg's car:

Thanks again Keith. I am going to try and make the breakfast and go with Erich Bruckner. I was just thinking about it and this is the first picture of the car since I got her and tore her apart
Erich Bruckner stopped by today. Boy it is great the nice people who own Model T's. I am just learning so I have lots of questions for the local guys. Cant wait till I can get mine running properly. Wont run on the mag right now
Still not running on the mag but I managed to get her out to a show last night and she even brought home a trophy.
Hey Greg, thats awesome. You work fast.
Did you get the sediment bowl cleaned out?
Sediment bowl was completely full of junk. I have remove the screen and temporarily installed a filter in line so I can see when it is clean. I am not sure what to do to get her running on the mag yet.
Here's a lot of information/discussion on a non-working magneto.

If your inline filter is the paper type you may not get enough fuel. It needs a fuel pump to work properly. The glass bowl type may be OK, but that's speculation. I haven't tried it. The parts dealers sell a little brass cloth filter that extends up into the fuel tank above the sediment bulb. That's one accessory that's actually helpful.
