Boy, it's getting hard to find decent sheet metal up here. I have been looking for almost a year for fenders, etc for my '23 roadster project(swap meets, etc.) and seems like all the fenders and running boards are either rotted beyond repair, or mangled.
I think I am going to have to start heading south to swap meets to find some stuff.......
Try Mike Peterson on Ebay. He is very reasonable, friendly, honest and fair. I have purchased many original vintage Model T parts from him and have always been happy with the quality. If Mike can't help you, there are almost always good '23 body parts on ebay sold by numerous sellers. Jim Patrick
Thanks Jim. I will have a look and see what I can find. Do you happen to know what name he goes by on Ebay?
It's gunman63. Jim's description is right on - unfortunately (for you) he mostly sells 26/27 stuff. Here is his profile on this board: http://www.mtfca.com/cgi-bin/discus/board-profile.cgi?action=view_profile&profil e=mike_peterson-users
Greg,
Spring Barrie is coming up June 7-10. One hour drive north-east of you.

Thanks guys.
Steve - I was there last year in the fall, but didn't find much. I didn't get there until saturday afternoon, so that is probably why.
Everyone there said that the spring one is a lot better, so I plan on being there bright and early on Friday morning.
Greg, Good used fenders is something that is not something one buys at swap meets. Almost always the fenders have problems.
Greg,
You can always buy new ones:

Jim
Jim,
I am at the point now where I am seriously considering it. With the time and money I need to spend on re-working used ones, I would probably be ahead of the game with brand new ones.
I have in the past, and probably will again, cut apart two or three bad fenders to weld together one good one. Often, on model T fenders, it is the lower end where it attaches to the running board that has rotted away. That part, I have made the replacement pieces myself and welded them in. Sometimes they turn out fairly nice. Always, they would be a bit better if I spent more time on the finish work. But I never seem to have enough time.
Good fenders are getting harder to find here, also.
The big problem here is, people selling at swap meets want $50 for junk fenders. The last front I looked at was rotted off the bottom and looked like it was run over by a truck. I think I have enough rears for all my planned '17 to '25 projects. But I need a couple fronts, and I am not real picky. I may be a fool, but I am considering needing a full set of '12 to '15 fenders. Only if I can get them cheap. If you were closer, I do have a rear or two I would give away. I don't recall which side, though. They are not great, but not nearly as bad as some I have restored either.
Good luck!
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
