A friend of mine is helping rebuild the wood in a 23 center door, and needs to know if there is a drawing, plans, pictures available of the wood in a 23 Center door. I took a picture, and he seems to think there's something missing.
I am not familiar enough with the wood in one of these to tell him. But I need correct information
Thank you....
If you can find a Vintage Ford magazine Sept-Oct, Nov-Dec 2007, and Jan-Feb 2008 it shows most of the wood in a centerdoor.
Here are two from the November - December 1985 Vintage Ford.
Regards, John
I don't know how different a 23 is, but, Mel Miller's daughter (Jennifer) has the wood plans for the 16-22 Centerdoor (www.modeltmel.com)
William,
Joe Fellin did a series of excellent articles on the restoration of his Centerdoor. They are published in the MTFCA club magazine ”Vintage Ford.” Below is a copy of page 42 from his Nov-Dec 2007 article. I had scanned that a while back in 2008 to help answer a question about door looks and how they were installed. But other than the magazines are somewhere in my office – I’m not sure of the exact location at the moment. If your friend is in a hurry and/or does not do computers – I would recommend calling the club and ordering the back issues John Danuser recommended above Vintage Ford magazine Sept-Oct, Nov-Dec 2007, and Jan-Feb 2008 They have lots of details and instructions. I tried to find the “back issues order information” but I did not find it. But if you call [ 765-855-5248 ] and/or e-mail Barbara Klehfoth [e-mail on her profile at: http://www.mtfca.com/cgi-bin/discus/board-profile.cgi?action=view_profile&profil e=barbara_klehfoth-users ] I’m 90% sure she can answer your question of how to obtain back issues that contain those articles.
If you want me to look for the issues – please let me know and I can do that also – but Barbara would probably be much quicker.
Note also that two different companies supplied the Centerdoor bodies to Ford -- Fisher and Wilson. And there were some variations between the two bodies.
Bruce's CD has an excellent section on how to tell if the body is a 1923 or if it is an earlier 1916-1922 style body.

I will check out those issues. I am aware that 2 body suppliers were in effect for those. One has an indent and the other doesn't.
Thanks Hap
oops -- here is page 42 from the Nov-Dec 2007 article. Used by permission to promote our club and hobby. Thanks to Joe Fellin for documenting his restoration and rewooding of his Centerdoor.

The centerdoor bodies were supplied by Fisher and Wadsworth - not Wilson.
Dave S.
David,
Yes, the other W -- Fisher and Wadsworth for the Centerdoors.
Thanks for catching the mistake -- we don't want to mislead folks who read it later.
