Been working on a hand operated horn (plunger type) Any of you guys know whether there is supposed to be some kind of gasket between the bell, the vibrating metal disc and the gear works cover? Mine was in such bad shape I could not tell if there had been anything there or if it's just metal to metal.

There should be a gasket on both sides of the diaphragm.
