When it rains, it seems to pour. Working on my backfire through the exhaust I have encountered a much more urgent problem. One of the bolts that hold the Autoloc assembly to the coil box has come loose and fallen into the switch. It has made turning the key impossible. Even taking the coil box off the T and shaking it some does not relieve the problem. Looks a lot like I will have to cut the lock cylinder out to get access to repair or replace the switch. Anyone know of a means to remove the cylinder without cutting it out? I know that if I have to cut it out I probably will not be able to replace the 96 year old lock assembly.
Thanks
Sam
Is your switch held on the coil box by three screws inside the box? If so take the switch completely off the box and then try and get it apart.

one of the bolts has damaged threads and I cannot remove the nut. Am going to use Dremel tool to cut nut off inside coil box. Will also have to cut wiring to switch to remove from coil box. Easy enough to replace wiring. Looks more like cutting the face off the cylinder and going with the flat face plate and key that are available from T-parts suppliers and loose the security of the 4 tumbler Yale lock.
Thanks for responding. Sam
Sam, A picture of your problem would be helpful here. Hate to see you have to hurt the accessory lock......their not making any again any time soon.
Here is an early Braco Autlock switch, should would be a shame to cut the lock apart, these working units are getting rare. Parts don't interchange with early Ford switch.

Not the best picture. KW Autoloc assembly
I have one in the original box that I'll take some photos of so you'll know what the other side looks like, maybe it will help you save the lock. Give me a bit to poke around and find it.
I have one of those on my 17 Torpedo.
Just leaving the house for the evening, so did not look at this closely. Hopefully of some help.
