Getting closer. Now all the parts are back in Iowa, and the engine is together and on the chassis. Timer, carb, and most engine components are in place.
One of the pics shows the Dodge Bros logo on the crankcase.
The final three pics are of the "extra K engine" that is now on display at Speedway Motors in Lincoln NE. This engine was displayed at Ford at one time, and is still on the same display stand.

That's great!
You must be getting excited. Don't forget to provide for a dash-mounted video camera.
The engine stand is from some sort of exibit. Do you have two engines?
The engine is silver colored in one shot and "blue" in another shot.
Ralph,
Yes, I'm excited to start driving the "bugs" out of it.
Darel,
We have two engines. We painted the one in the car cast color. That appears to be the original color of the engine in our Model N, so I went with that. The other engine was painted at some point when on display at Ford.
Rob,
I love these updates! I'm almost as anxious to see it run as you are, I'm sure. If you have the technology, please record the first start up and post it somewhere we can see and hear it!!
Keep up the great work!!!!
Rob, I knew from the You Tube vid you posted last fall of a K getting started you'd be hooked.
Not necessarily envious as stewardwship is beyond my means, but totally happy you'll be the new "steward" :-) Always enjoy your posts.
Rob,
Do you know if the engine was once part of Austie Clark's collection? That turquoise sign with white lettering and that particular font sure looks like the signs he had for each of his cars in his museum.
Here's an example:
Rob - Looks great! I'm looking forward to a ride soon!
ROb, Looookin goooood! Can't wait to see her finished!!....Chip
Thank you again for the update! It is looking fantastic!
I may not understand everyone else in the world. But for me, Bogey was wrong. This is the stuff my dreams are made of.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
Henry,
I'll definitely post some video once it is running. It was already started before the "fresh up". Since then Dean has tightened bearings along with some new bushings, etc.
Gary,
Thank you for the kind words. I have repeatedly told Dean (the expert K mechanic doing the lions share of work) that his work will help this car through it's second century).
Chris,
I was told that is the stand it was on at Ford. The lettering and colors are similar though.
Mike,
Of course you will get one of the first rides. I was hoping to have the K in the parking lot running during our upcoming MTFCA tour in Lincoln, but it looks like that won't happen.
Chip and Wayne,
Thank you. Sometimes when work is a "bear" (thinking of a word that starts with b, but not bear), I daydream about how the K will look when finished (so yes, the stuff dreams are made of).
Have a good weekend,
Rob
Great work Rob!!!
