Can reverse be adjusted so the pedal will be up a little higher? Mine seems to be nearly at the floor which my big feet find hard to go between the clutch and brake pedals. Thanks for suggestions.
Sure, you can bend the pedal backwards. It likely is bent forwards from decades of people stomping it. Also the cams wear out and can be replaced when the hogshead is off next time.
It's pretty classic for the pedal cams to get worn. The best way to see if a pedal cam is worn is to remove the transmission cover and watch the bands as you push down on the pedals. Ideally, the right ear of the band should start moving sideways (not necessarily engaging) as soon as you push the pedal. If you have to push the pedal down quite a ways for the band to start moving, then you probably have a worn cam!
I found that the best way to fix this is to weld up the old cam and the cam surface on the pedal and grind it down to fit.
Alternatively, some vendors have a reversing pedal extension that just bolts onto the existing pedal.
I welded up the cams on my TT. Doesn't take much, I used a mig welder. Then, just knock down the high spots with a grinder, worked great. Dave
