This article may be interesting to some.
I was reviewing some of the subject titles that I keep that I have found interesting through the years and I ran across this one from the ‘Old Forum of 2002’ It is about wood rot and fungus and some treatments and/or prevention.
I found an interesting comment about athletes foot down about 1/3 of the way into the article.
The thread is to be found at http://mtfca.com/discus/messages/6/1037.html?
This is the full thread containing the added comments (at the time). Old-timers may remember some of the names.

I remember all that, seeing it again.
Some or most of the wood in my T era house were treated with borate at one time, probably when built, and boards I've removed don't burn worth a darn in the fireplace, and make a lot of smoke.
I've been using anti-freeze on all the wood in reconstruction on the house since this thread.
Oh, and thanks for the reminder, Gene.
I remember that article also, surprised there wasn't a comment from Reid .
