I received a phone call from a gentleman in Santa Monica, Ca who is re-wooding a 26 Fordor but is missing some of the original wood in the rear half. I live in the Sacramento area ( not sure how he got my name?) but do not know of any Fordors that have the upholstery out to get measurements. I tried to get him to post here but he is not a computer person but does have email. He says he has cut all the wood for the front and does not want to buy a precut kit. If there is someone who can help or in the so. Calif area where he can take a look, send me an email and i will put you in cantact with him, Thanks - John
I've not had luck with searches here but I recall last year (or 2K10?) a Ray Green ? was rewooding his Fordor. He had posted tons of bare wood construction pics.
John, I have a 26 Fordor that has the upholstery out. It is missing only the curved wood piece that goes at the belt line where the top and bottom parts of the passengers rear quarter meet and the outside tack strip, nails into. I'd be glad to take pictures. Measurements might be hard to get accurately with the wood in place.
I'm not in California, but the interior is still out of my 26 Fordor. I also know there is at least one other 27 Fordor in Michigan that is painted but with no interior.
Terry and Tom, Thanks. I am sending you a pm with Herbert's email. Hopefully one of you can answer his question.
My only re-wooding experience was way back in 1969 when I did my 21 touring, but I bought a kit. - John
John, if you want you can give him my email address and have him contact me. I can give him most measurements over the phone. Mine is a '27 but it is the same setup..
Ray Elkins was the one doing that, but seems he has dropped off the face of the earth. I have tried to call several times when I go through his area to no avail. Ray is a very talented fellow, wish he would get in touch with some one. KB
Jim's photo is close, but my 26 only has one vertical wood piece in the back on the lower portion.
The 26-27 Fordor only had the one center vertical strut. Here are a couple of pictures from a previous thread and and a link to an excellent thread by Ray Elkins a few years ago.

John, have your buddy call my cell phone...I've had a few things pop up this week and haven't been home much. I did get his message but it wasn't clear...cheap answering machine.
Here are some pages from my Ford Body parts book. Jim Patrick
John, Herb wanted a picture of the center post roof bracket. These were missing from my 27 so I made up my own. Tom Miller said the original brackets tied in the upper bow also. I have not seen a picture how that was done. He also commented that because the roads are paved now days that it probably wasn't needed anymore. The roof was tied in for excess twisting and turning due to rough roads...can you see that he gets this? Thx.
Oops, forgot to attach the photo...another example of me-in-tell-e-gents...
And here's mine.
