Is there any way to stop the number one high tension terminal on the coil box from leaking and arcing across to the fire wall?
The best way is to install a new plastic-wood kit in the box John and carefully clean the insulators too. Many of us have posted photos of our rebuilt boxes and they are very nice - and they stop the problem of high voltage snaking around where it's not supposed to be. If you're curious, run your T in the garage with the lights off and you should see where the arcing is occurring. Putting in a new wood kit is just delaying the inevitable switch over to the plastic kit. I did my racer's coilbox last summer and am very pleased with the outcome!
My best advice to go along with the new kit is to find a pop riveter with the longest handles you can find - a scrawny riveter isn't gonna do it !!
