It's that time of year, girls to camp so we are flying somewhere to get away. This time we are flying into Charlotte NC, then driving to the Greenville SC area. Any recommendations for us to visit?

I like history (and cars :-)). My wife likes scenery, hiking, rafting, biking.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Rob

Asheville, and be sure to have a meal in the Biltmore Estate stables!
Mack Jeffrey is not too far away – if you have time, pay him a visit. Great Country – you’ll have a good time

Probably a 3 hour drive from Charlotte Rob but as I mentioned in another thread a nice 3 or 4 hour loop drive is the Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon.

As others posted when I mentioned it in another thread, there are alot of sport bikes and some were apprehensive. We've done it many times in a 1949 VW bug with 25HP, full crash box trans and cable brakes.
Definitely second the dinner at the Biltmore!!

Our downtown has a great walking/biking trail that is over 17 miles long connecting Downtown Greenville to Furman University and beyond. If your interested, I have a couple of Pedego electric-assist bikes that make the trip so enjoyable.

We hosted the HCCA Summer Tour here in Greenville last July. I will send you the tour itinerary. At a minimum you should take the tour at BMW Mfg. where all of the X-vehicles are produced. Depending upon when you are here, you may want to take in a Greenville Drive baseball game downtown.

Here is a copy of our tour letter from last summer showing the events planned in, and around Greenville.

If any looks to be of interest to you and your family just let me know.

There is lots to do in Greenville. Welcome!

Mount Pilot! The best part of Greenville was always the flight home! Sorry but used to fly there weekly in the 80's.
