That gas tank is huge, what would that hold, 20 gals ??
Is that a chevy frame with the springs? It is an interesting looking speedster, and the engine pan and trans doesn't look Ford to me but I can't really tell for sure. Jim
David, I'd bet it was closer to thirty gallons. Jim, my thoughts too. Dave
I have that same front axle and 1/2 springs for sale in my truck 200.00 plus shipping danuser88@ktis.net
I think this car is a Chevrolet.
That is a 490 Chevrolet. Or a Whippet.
Look at the springs.
Not a Whippet. They came out in 1926 and had four wheel brakes. Maybe an Overland. Whippet's predecessor.
I am pretty sure it is a Ch##y. The Overland that had an odd looking suspension that looked something like this from some angles with fenders on the car, mounted in the center like a model T. Most Willys and Overland cars had more conventional suspension.
It looks like an Ames Built body, hood and radiator shell. They built kits for Chevrolet, Overland and several other marques as well as for Ford.
It is, however, a great looking speedster.
Thank you for sharing this.

Are those exterior brakes on the rear?
Chevy had that type of brake as standard in those years.
Here's a Chewy:
Boy! With a little work, and a custom gasoline tank?
Thanks rdr.

Dave Cox was asking 2200 for it, back in '04 or so.
