Who sells chrome 1926 Grill Shells? They never were chrome. The 1926-27 raidator shells were nickel plated or were painted to match the rest of the car. To my knowledge, nobody makes them today and the only source is someone who happens to have one and wants to sell it.

I bought a couple of nice ones from Mike Peterson for my '26 coupe and '26 Fordor. He specializes in buying '26-'27 T's and parts them out. The price was much less than what it would have cost to have them plated and they were almost flawless. Jim Patrick

The nickle ones were made of solid brass and then nickle plated.
'25 shells are different than the '26-27 shells.

Aaron is correct. The 26-27 shell sides have more flare out to them to match the 26-27 style hood sides. Most open cars came with steel, black painted shells and the closed cars came with nickel plated brass ones. Either can be nickel or chrome plated. I have several nickel shells suitable for a driver, but none good enough for a restored or hot rod show car. Of course, if you are using it on a hot rod, you may not be using a hood, anyway, and in that case you could use a 24-25 steel shell.
