So i was wondering if anyone had put a warford transmission at the rear of the driveshaft putting all the weight on the axle. Not even sure how the gear shift works, Is it even possible?.
Proper aux trannies were put there by design.
Warfords go at the front.
Moore also made one of the rear mounted transmissions.
I think you can make a Warford fit integrated in the driveshaft with some fabrication of parts.
You also need to shorten the gear shift lever and make a good linkage that moves the shift lever action forwards.
Volvo's had a long gear shift lever up until 1971. Short levers were popular and considered more sporty, so there were accessory linkages sold with a shorter gear shift lever positioned rearwards from the now cut original lever:
You may find parts to make something similar.
The advantage would be less weight on the rear of the engine and more weight on the drive wheels - while the downside could be a bumpier ride on bad roads with more unsprung weight. Your model T may then need shocks more than it did before.
