Hi Folks. I have been trying to find the rite link to post photos on the forum, could some one please lead me in the rite place please.

Here's an old post that describes the photo post procedure: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/118802/179814.html
(You use the "upload attachment" button below the "Add a message" box. You may have to resize large photo files down to 195 kb or lower. You can use the preview to check the layout of the post before clicking post)
It's at the bottom of every message page if you are just replying to the current message you're reading.
Type your text in the 'Add a Message' box, then hit Enter to place cursor on a separate line.
Enter your username and password, then press the 'Upload Attachment' button to go look for the photo on your computer. Once you have picked your photo then press the 'Upload' button and you will come back to this screen and have the choice of (1) clicking on the 'Preview/Post Message' button which will highlight your spelling mistakes if any or (2) click on the 'Post this Message' button which adds your message with all of the others, but you can't make anymore changes or corrections to your typing.
If you want to add another photo then put the cursor on a new line again and just repeat what you did.
Photos must be around 200kb or less or else you will get an error message
If you want to start a new message of your own then go back to the main listing and press the "Start New Thread' button.

Re the 200k file size limit.
Computer Law . . .
200k = 2048 bytes. (binary)
But 200k in general use is 2000 bytes. (decimal)
So . . .
2000 / 2048 = 0.9765625 which when multiplied by
2000 = 1953.125 bytes or 195k.
If compression is used on a jpg file to achieve the 195k
limit, you may find that you need to compress it to about
190k (more or less depending on the % of compression).
Editing Text or Spacing Photos . . .
Remember, you can check and edit the text and or photo placement as
many times as you wish to by clicking on “Preview / Post Message”,
and then making any changes in the “Add a Message” box, but once you
click on “Post This Message” it’s GONE to the Forum.
Two small photos on the same line can be spaced apart by putting a 'space'
between the ‘photo codes’, and a blank line (or a 'blank line' or two with the
photo’s description) between ‘photo codes’ will vertical space your photos.

I've recently found it easier to post pix here than other kinds of Forums I've joined. It's a piece of cake, once you get the hang of it.
Some computers have no little box with the thing to upload pictures no matter how many times you click it. Like some thing called "opera" http://www.opera.com/ has or had no picture upload thing, Heard ipads have the same problem.
But the little box does not always show up when you press "Upload Attachment".
Hmmm mine did, however with Opera it did say
“Choose” instead of “Browse”

If you don't do an abrupt click on the Upload Attachment, the box may come up behind the web page. If you have Windows, look for its name on the bar at the bottom of your screen. It should be a separate window titled, "Add Image..."
Kep,
There is another way to do it. Instead of the gray box at the bottom, merely insert the Image command in your message.
it is done by typing the \ followed by the word image followed by { (left curly brace) then a short description of your image and a } (right curly brace) to complete the command.
Everything else about sizing and positioning your image is as mentioned above.
Using this feature, I can insert an image of Woodward Avenue in Detroit like this:
\image{Woodward Avenue}
And this is the result - after browsing to where the image is stored, of course:
Tom,
that's a great picture. Do you you still hear from Dave Coleman ? You might remember our meeting in 2005 when my wife and I visited Detroit ?
Gerry,
I sent you an email. Give me a ring Friday night.
Or, I'm going to be in Geraldine on Saturday, I could even visit if you get really desperate...
Regards,
Bede
My iPhone does not have a browse button in the second window, the upload button is dim and not clickable
Beds, certainly do remember you. I tried to find the picture I took of you, David Coleman and David Liepelt in front of the blacksmith's shop in the Museum. Right behind the Allegheny locomotive. Good to see you on the Forum.
Now, to try a picture from my iPhone to see if it is as easy as on a PC.
Model T mobile calling.

Trying again using the iCab browser app on my iPhone.
This is a picture of my favorite actress, Jobyna Ralston.
Resized the image first using the SimpleResize app.
Tom,
will these do ?
David Liepelt, Emma and I
Tom, Emma, Me, Dave Coleman
Tom, I've tried contacting Dave over the last couple of years, if you still see him, pass on my best regards. It was THIS forum about 9 years ago that made us all meet together for those few days. It sure was special to visit Detroit and you people, coming from around the other side of the world.

Bede
Bede,
I will pass that along the next Time I see him. Having Folks from New Zealand and Australia visit is always special. They have quite a trip to get here, and they, like us, speak a variant of English.
At the Piquette Plant we are always ready to talk about Henry Ford, James Couzins, Joe Galamb, Charlie Sorensen and the rest. Your visits give us a great opportunity to do that.
Tom
Sorry,
we are teaching Gerry how to post pictures and this is a test.... we are just covering resizing now !
