Need a new Model T engine?
Not just a new—but better than new. This is a complete engine and transmission with starter, generator, manifolds.
Ready to “drop in” and travel cross country.
The members of the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque, under the direction of Larry Azevedo, a master engine builder and machinist, have built an engine that is being raffled. The value of the engine is in excess of $4,000.
The engine is being delivered to the Model T Museum in Richmond, Indiana
Sunday, May 20, 2012 by Neil O’Brien and will be on display.
Tickets are a mere $10 each. You do not need to be present to claim the prize.
The winner is responsible for picking up the engine.
Details: The block is a 1923 Canadian engine, serial number C445141. The engine has been re-babbitted, bored to 30 over, has new aluminum pistons,inside and outside oil lines, and rebuilt magneto. Complete rebuilt transmission has been balanced and has Kevlar bands, and a newly rebuilt generator, starter. It is painted and even has a fan installed. It has been run-in for 7 hours on a test stand.

BTW - Did the museum set up a plan to ship the motor (at the winner's expense) if someone they lived too far away to pick it up?
Sounds pretty good, as long as it doesn't have a water pump on it.
I have dimensions for an engine stand made out of 2X10s that would hold up to shipping. Install the engine on the stand, strap it to a pallet and call a trucking company. It'll probably cost an arm and a leg. BTW, I use the stand for engine "run in" too.
Hal - how's about throwing those stand dimensions out for us "challenged wood guys" ?
That's if my wife will let me play with the table saw ! She claims that "it'd be damn tough to be a Model T mechanic with just stubs" !
