Gents, is there any reason why you couldn't extend the short anti rotational pin used to retain the steel thrust washer in differentials to also lock the bronze washer? These bronze washers at best have the capacity to "orbit around" the differential centre. The only downside that i see is that only one side of the washer is taking the side thrust and not sharing it on both sides. I'm always concerned that the steel washer will drop off the short pin and create a larger problem. Any thoughts?

I think that would be a lot of axle float to do that, like the clearance of broken babbitt thrusts, what do you think would give that sort of clearance with a proper set up diff with brass thrusts?

I agree with Kerry - It would take a lot of slop for the steel washers to drop off the pins and in my opinion you would have significantly worse problems before that would happen.
