Looking for advice. My dad and I have a differece of opinion regarding seatbelts in the new speedster. I think it's a bad idea. The car has no rollbar and won't ever have one and my fear is there is nothing substantial for protection if the worst ever happens. Like a motorcycle, it's best not to be strapped to it. He disagrees saying a very minor accident could cause a person be thrown from the car. I have a lot of respect for this man but I think he's wrong. And yes the easy answer is to drive safely and avoid accidents altogether. We both agree on that one. What's your opinion on this?

i'm pretty sure Ralph has seatbelts in his T, and if memory serves me correct, he demands passengers use them, but I don't think he reaces, and he has auxillary brakes, and could launch a passenger over the firewall if he wanted to!!!!! I know I intend to put them in my wooden bodied pickup, if for no other reason to help me stay put behind the wheel if need be

I think I will take my chances and be thrown out of the car instead of having it roll over me.

Statistics have shown that a belted driver is more likely to be involved in an accident. I think you are right, It would be the same as having a seat belt on a motorcycle.
Best

Also remember that the body is wood and only attached by a few bolts to the frame. If you mount the seatbelts to the frame and the car body shifts from the frame, your human body will be the anchor point for the car body. Ouch! :-)
