I rework old post cards and then have them printed on birch plywood in large sizes as signs/posters. Here is one I reworked yesterday so it became a "local sign".auto

Hi Darel

Really like your card, but was the spelling mistake (Chaffeur) on the original card and / or a
deliberate play on words of some sort that I’m not linguistically capable enough to catch on to?

Regards
Art

On the original card. My dictionary states that is the correct spelling.

I'm confused but my dictionary (Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary) states Chauffeur is correct.

When I said that is correct, I meant that the spelling on the card is correct.

I just done a Google search and "Chauffeur" can up as correctly spelt.

Could this be another one of those spellings like color, colour?

I am totally confused.?!
How did it get changed on Art's post?
Look at the picture map of Lake Minnetonka.
In the 60's I worked for the son of the founder of Tonka Toys.
For a company picnic at their place on Lake MinneTONKA we took a chartered boat ride around that lake for a few hours.
When we got back the boss took 4 of us for a ride in his 430 C.I.D. Lincoln powered drag boat.
You can get lost on that lake so easy. It is like 20 large lakes joining each other.
We were traveling at 80MPH so we got to see a lot of the lake.

Whoops – I guess I should have made it clearer that the spelling was
changed on my post, but I still like the card and the sign / poster idea.

Art

Lake Minnetonka is a rambling lake with over 100 miles of shore. I have 52 feet of that shore line on a northern bay. With all the rain we are getting, the lake went from 18 inches low to several inches above in several weeks. I f you google maps and look for 678 Tonkawa Rd, Orono, MN you will see my place.
