The '27 chassis I bought in January is all supposed to be rebuilt and ready to go. Everything is clean (clean as it can be after setting for at least 10 to 12 years or more in a shed) and has been painted. I am heeding the warnings about being sure there is no babbit in the rear end and taking it apart to confirm no babbit before moving forward. When I went to center punch the pin holding the universal joint to the drive shaft the pin moved. I did not need to drill it, it was only peened on one side. Don't believe anything you are told, verify it for your self. A T is too easy to take apart and verify everything is correct. It is your personal safety at risk.
I pulled the front axle apart for painting, and found the spindle bearings were assembled dry, no grease. The nut was snugged up and cotter keyed as if it was finished.

As long as you're that far make sure the face of the upper driveshaft bushing isn't worn or you'll be taking it apart again when you hear crunch crunch crunch....... :-(

I agree 110%. Check it yourself no matter how good you believe the previous repairer was. Their standards and yours are usually a lot different!! You need to drive the T with knowledge that you know every nut, bolt and item is good to go
