I have a 22 Roadster purchased from an estate sale a few years ago. It was restored in the 1960's. I ordered a boot for it and it won't fit. Here are a few pictures. You will notice the front bow which is on top of the stack when the top is lowered, is longer than the others. The cups where the bows fit together are all in alignment, so I think that bow is correct for this car. The top fits fine when it is up. Anyway, the boot is 16 1/2 inches from the back of the top bow to the front of the boot, but the space is 21 inches from the back of the seat. Does anyone have a 22 Roadster with this same configuration?

Your front (top) bow seems too long.

I just went to the garage measured my '17 roadster which has round top sockets. The end of the front (top) bow is only 18.5 inches from the rear of the seat. Also, the front bow sits approximately 1.5 inches further out than the third (bottom) bow when the top is folded.

On a side note, the design of the top boot sold by the vendors is not authentic. For the later cars, there should be no Murphy fasteners. Also, the middle strap should be fastened at the bottom of the top boot and pass through a grommet in the rear curtain and a second grommet at the top of the the boot before passing over the seat back. I received a custom boot made to fit my unusual top bows. Dave at Mac's Cartouche was very co-operative and I would highly recommend them. Here is a picture of the boot they sent in exchange for the first one which would have fit if all the bows had been the same length. My top for some reason has the front bow longer than the other bows when stacked. The bow fits fine when the top is up, and I had no idea my car is unusual. That's a seat cushion behind it which looks like something hanging from the boot. It fits very well
