My wife informed me that she'd neither go near nor sit in (much less drive) my car unless it was upholstered. When I started pricing kits I found them to be a wee bit pricey (I liked Classtique's the best), so I started studying cars whenever I could get close to one or looking at them on the net. I posted here about a month or two ago about my wanting to attempt to make my own upholstery on my 22 touring. I got lots of tips, advice, dimensions and words of encouragement. Well, I got the front done, now I'm starting in on the rear.
I made a few mistakes here and there, and it took longer than I would have liked, (I had to hand sew ALL of it) I think it came out pretty good all things considered for a temporary upholstery job.

This is the front seat cushion, I miscalculated concerning the trim and I didn't bother with the buttons.

This is the completed seat, I misunderstood forming the corner and made the armrest panels wrong (something I will correct when I do the back seat).

I chose to cover the buttons only because paint didn't look right on my non-vinyl material. And my seat cushion height is 1.5 inches higher than it should have been, because I made an error on the compression value of the padding I used. But all in all, well it's good enough for now.

I would like to publicly like to thank everybody for their help and especially William Vandeberg for pictures of his Classtique kit and tips on it's installation and also to Steve Boothroyd for the pictures of his original 22 touring's (66 of them) upholstery. Between these two groups of photo's (and a major revision of my patterns) I'll be able to do a much better job on the rear seat.

Thanks again guys :-)
