I ordered a 12v alternator and was sent a 6v.Will the 6v work in place of the 12v? like the 6v generator does. My friend wants to use his T in the 4th of JUly parade

Just install the alternator to plug the hole in the engine. Don't connect the wiring. Then run the car on MAG. You are having the parade in day time right?

A Model T ignition doesn't require the alternator, or even a battery to run perfectly. This is why the Model T was the most successful car in the first half of the 20th century. It was more reliable than any other car on the road, due to its simplicity and extremely reliable ignition system.

The 6V alternator won't work with a 12 volt battery.

Dont run it they wont take it back then. If it's not what you want wait or put the gen in for the parrade.

You can also make a block off plate and leave both off if you want. Metal plate cut to size and gasket is all you need.
