i have a 1926 model t whose crankshaft won't spin the engine. it is frozen in place. it was running just fine and then, in trying to start her just now, absolutely frozen. how bad is this?
Are you sure it wont spin? How about it being in high gear? Did it make any noise when you shut it off or did it quit ?
More info.
Are you sure the starter bendix is not stuck? Try to turn the engine over with the crank. If that does not work put the transmission in high gear and rock the car back and forth. Let us know what happens.

It's probably the starter locked up.
Put it in high gear and rock the car back and forth.
That should break it free.
These things just do this once in awhile.
If it does it often enough to bug you there's probably something worn in the starter or gears that you can fix.
These guys are right I forgot about the starter drive hanging up. Where was Bob today ??
