WWW.carboncanyonmodeltclub.com members were out and about Saturday. It is the second Saturday in a row we returned home in a monsoon rain storm. The kind of rain that saturates everything and comes flying through a T's split window. I guess I should not complain though, you know who had his speedster out.
There were several stops before we finally were at out destination for the day. We borrowed someone from this stop for a photo op.
This photo was taken at our final destination. This is a place we visit each year. Our ever so gracious hosts have an abundance of..... collections of logging items. It is hard to see everything during one visit. Each year there is something new to see.
We brought lunch in and roasted brats, complete with kraut.
Note the mud puddles.....amongst all the black cars.
There was a mass exodus when the clouds let go.
Looks awesome, puddles and all. Better weather is just about to get here. I just read the story of the New York to Paris race in 1908. Boy did those guys put up with some severe weather. You had a shared experience with them on this occasion.
On one hand, I hated to miss this event. However, on the other hand, I would have had to drive the old '23 touring again which has no top as the depot hack is now running, but still a few details and final adjustments to make what with the fully "tomasaficated" engine and transmission and new front crossmember that I finally got installed. So, considering the above mention of rain, monsoons, mud, etc., I think maybe I made the right decision. We make jokes about actual summer not really starting here in the Pacific NW until July 5th, and the weatherman last night actually said that that's what's actually gonna' happen this year! Off & on rain for a few more days and clearing and warmer on the 5th!
A little rain sounds good about now,it has been in the high 90's everyday here for about a week.Maybe some day I'll have to eat my words but I am looking forward to moving to Washington and enjoying the rain.

Had a good trip, Here is the link if you'd care to take a look!
Hi Harold, I thought maybe you headed to the Island.
Our weather is so uncooperative for T runs. Two Saturday's in a row I have had rain coming in through the wind shield on the dash home. your touring, I would of loaned you my blanket. Like that would of helped.
If you really are on the Island, look for the Stanhopes in the parade over there.
I don't think we'll be going up to Lopez until about the 1st of September. Hope to make most of the CCMTC events during July and August....starting by driving the depot hack to the breakfast meeting next Saturday. Finally got it running and it runs like a good Swiss watch! A highly successful "Tomasafication" I must say! A few minor adjustments and I'm "good ta' go"!
By the way Renea,....it's nice to know you'd share your blanket with me,..........(but I'm not sure that John would approve!)
We will look for you and the hack Saturday, the weather should be good for T'ing.
It is good to hear you like the way your engine runs now. Mine came from the same place and she "purrs".
Keep checking your email for CCMT events. Donuts and coffee at Cliffs before the parade on the 4th.
Chicken and catfish bbq at our place afterwards.
July 14 is the Jensen Tour.
Aug 11 is Ashford bbq.
Renea,John Thanks for posting the pics. That was a fun very very wet day You should of seen my 20' water rouster tails off of all 4 wheels on the speedster! Thank god no police saw that. I don't think I will try rainy day driving in that car again anytime soon. It was not as fun as one mite think
Mike, those rooster tails would make a great photo op.
