Hey All,
I have seen some pictures of windsheild posts that appear to have a tilt or slant instead of being vertical. It also seems to me maybe they were canadian? Does anyone know what years these posts were used in? Do they have the light brackets cast on? do the windsheild mounting points change(other than the wood cowl)between high and low cowl? Can they be used on a '15 -'22? Are they rare or hard to find? Do they use different top bows? Any info is appreciated - cheers, Rik
Starting with the 1923 model year, the windshield was slanted.
I should add, the slant windshield coincided with the introduction of the one-top.
Rik,
The slanted posts accept the "one man" top which actually clamps to the posts, whereas the two man top does not. These posts and the one man top were introduced in late 1922 on the same body as the 22. They were retained when the firewall and radiator were raised on the 23.

According to the parts manuals, Canada started using the sloping windshields in 1920.
Some clarification regarding U.S. cars:
The slant windshield was introduced with the 1923 model year cars.
Although the 1923 touring body was the same as the 1922 model year, the 1923 roadster body and turtle deck was significantly different than the 1922 model. The 1923 tourings appeared starting in September 1922 while the 1923 roadsters appeared starting in November 1922.
The higher radiator, hood and firewall did not occur until the 1924 model year starting in August 1923.
Thanks Erik. I did not know that about the tourings vs roadsters. This model year change seems the most confusing of all.
The ones on my '15 are accessories not made by Ford.
