I thought these would be a fitting ACCESSORY OF THE DAY for the fourth of July.
I wonder how many vehicles went up in smoke because of these?
Hahaha ... LOVE it !
Yes ... not so good if you have any kind of fuel leak!
Wow! I now remember people wiring those into cars as a joke, especially newlyweds.
The instructions say, "Do not attach on carburetor side", but the illustration shows it on the right side of the engine. (???)
I remember smoke bombs that you attached to the #1 plug wire, a great amount of white, red or yellow smoke would be produced, this was in the late forties to mid fifties.
Rick
I remember as a kid that when the bride and groom left the reception to go on their honeymoon the car they left in was always wired with one of these. I remember at my uncles wedding when he got into the car to leave that he laughed and held his ears expecting the bomb that was in fact thought to be a fizzle because it had a very loud whistle like a dive bomber sound and then ended only in a huge puff of smoke. I couldn't have been more than 8 years old at the time but I remember that loud whistle that happened as soon as he started the car.
My brother and I did that to my dad's new Mustang in '65. We got two did in dad and grampa. Both got a chuckle and we were warned not to that ever again to grampa. Dad loved it. LOL
