Many of you have written me for an update on the restoration of my 1912 Torpedo so I thought I would post this photo.

Here is the back rest completed. Feels like an actual car when you see the upholstery installed. The original pattern and the original horse hair was used.

Tack strip still needs to be put on next. Cushion, top, door panels and side curtains are being made now. The upholstery all other fabric elements is being done by Mark's Upholstery in Foxboro, Ma.

Finish paint is being applied to parts and then assembly.

So far, feel good about the restoration. Don't know how I would have done it without many of you on this forum and the internet in general. Without that, It would have been far more difficult to do the research. Far more difficult to find experts to help with many of the different elements of the restoration.

In particular, John Regan who fabricated my firewall , just as original ,with a solid core. Just great. John went out of his way to make me a replacement firewall when the first one he made for me was damaged in shipment. His advice and input also was very helpful. John is also just a wealth of information.

Russ Furstnow who did a world class concourse restoration of my speedometer, cable and swivel assembly.

And RV Anderson who restored my coil box and original coils. The box and coils are like very fine furniture and look so beautiful , I'm almost afraid to touch them.

So that and the help and advice of many others on this forum and not on this forum have been a great help. THANKS TO ALL....

My only regret is that the car will not be ready for Rutland , which was my goal.

Very nice. You are lucky to find someone who will take on Diamond tufting and do such a nice job.

Hey Greg, I need to have my seat cushion upholstered. The backrest looks just like yours but the seat cushion needs to be redone. Who did your work? Any contact info appreciated.
