As mentioned in a previous thread, I'm pulling my engine to replace the oil seal. I also need to have the main and rod journals ground on the crank shaft. They are out of round by .0015". Is there a reputable re builder in Virginia or in a near by state that could do this? How much should I expect to pay?

Chester, if you have the crank ground you will have to pour and bore the main and rod babbitt. The crank would have to be ground probably .005 or more to get the journals round and the babbitt would never fit after that. I can have the crank done and pour and bore the mains, the rods can be bought in any size necessary.

Chester, If your shaft still measures up at only having .0015 out of round, according to the Ford Service Book you can max out at .002 and be with in specs.
Of course it depends on what sort of a rebuild you would be happy with.
