Well plans have changed, again. I was going to build a wood bodied commercial truck using my 26-27 hood and firewall combination. I just made a deal for a 25-26 steel truck cab. It lacks a fire wall so I now need a 23-25 type high fire wall for this cowl.
I am expecting that my 26 radiator shell + an 8 louver high hood + a 23-25 fire wall + 23-25 hood shelves will all work together on my 26-27 roadster chassis with the 26-27 fenders and running boards.
If my assumption is correct I have a 26-27 hood, fire wall and hood shelves available for sale or trade for same components in the 23-25 year style. The fire wall I have is out of a 27 fordor. It has been carefully removed from the cowl and is in great shape, no lower steering column bracket. It is flat in the upper section and can be used to build a wood vehicle body.
The new cab has arrived. How can I determine the year of this cab.
I think that body was only made in 1926 - 27. The doors are supposed to interchange with some Model A pickups from 1928
The number of bullet holes divided by 6 should give you an idea.
Think that cab is a '25, ....as the later cabs have dash panels with the small oval cut-out for the Improved ignition switch.
Note dash with small oval ignition switch
What firewall do I need. I think any '23 - '25 high hood type? Is that correct?
I don't believe Model A Pickup doors will work on this cab.
26-7 Coupe Doors are the ones used on 28-mid 1930 Model A truck cabs.
Its a late 24-25 cab as the dash is for that switch, the 26-7 cab is the same cab different dash. I sell the wood for the top, and I have a left door presently, no right one. TT doors only fit sq cab TT! Hard to find. danuser88@ktis.net
John Danuser said "TT doors only fit sq cab TT!"
Is this NOT a TT cab but rather a T cab. Were there two different vehicles?
The cab is a TT cab, it will fit on a T but you'll have to make brackets to install it on a T, what I was referring to is the 2 dr sedan doors mentioned above my answer will not fit, only TT doors will fit. I also have the cowl vent door w/handle you are missing.
Thanks for the clarification John. I sent a private message to you, send me some more info on the parts you have. Thanks!
My buddy, Mark, built this '24-'25 T truck using a TT cab body on the car T chassis and used a '25 metal car pickup bed for the rear. It's neat, but tall, you need over a 7' garage door or enclosed trailer to get it in
No message has come thru on my email, but I tied on to your name and sent you a answer via that method hope ypu got it. T and TT Ford Parts used, NOS, reprod, and some period accessories John Danuser Fulton Mo 65251-3730 MTFCA member # 2088
