Just curious if there are any Overland owners out there on this forum. My father, who passed away in 2008, bought a 1917 85-6 roadster in 1971. This history on this car is that it was used in the mines of Nevada to haul ore in and out. The entire chassis, engine, tranny, and running gear are there, but it's missing the body, etc. My mom gave it to me two weeks ago and my goal is to turn it into a touring car so that way we can use it as a family. I've been able to acquire the front half of a touring body, top, radiator and seats. I'm in need of headlights, a 24" wheel rim, throttle/spark linkage (the steering column is there and functional), radiator cap, floorboards, and anything else having to do with the cab.
I thought I'd post it out there on cyberspace because you never know what leads people have. For example, Mike Conrad was over two weeks ago to look at the car and he said that he had seen a better radiator cover at the Antique Auto Ranch in Spokane. We happened to be in Spokane the following weekend for a wedding and, sure enough, it was the right one for my car!
Any help/leads would be appreciated. Thanks.
Model T Haven has an Overland in their parts yard but I don't know what year it is.
Well, my dad has a '17 and a '13 Overland. He may have some parts left from the '17, and maybe the plans for the body...
Send me an email & we can coordinate more.
Try this http://www.wokr.org/. Very informative. You may want to join. Nice people to work with. There is an online library and their publication has classified ads where you can list your needs.
Check with Charlie Shaver in Liberal Mo, he rebuilds lots of Overlands completely from Motor to rear-ends, paint, upholstery tops and all
Jim, try posting a "Wanted To Buy" ad on the AACA website and I'll bet you turn up some leads.
