Short YouTube video with "Doctor K" starting the car. I drove it around a bit. The engine sounds good, now to start sorting it out. Some you might recognize "the Doctor".

That my friend, is BEAUTIFUL.
how did it get a starter?
I bet you're so excited you won't sleep.......
That is really something. Keep the pictures and video's coming.
How exciting!!!!!
The first start-up is always special; multiply that times 10 for a Model K.
Yes, I recognize "Dr. K". I spent several days at his home and shop last fall. Good (and educational) times, for sure.
Congratulations, Rob -- It's all downhill from here!
That's quite a pile of spaghetti all over the engine. More wiring than AT&T. It's an interesting machine.
Aaron,
Yes, thank God it had a ring gear and starter. It was 100 F plus, and us "old guys" were sweating our balls off (can I say that?). It sounded great. Dean has the engine tight, but the transmission is difficult to get right.
Yes, I'm excited. I've been through enough "rodeos" to know it's not where you start, but how it finishes.
Rob
Steve,
I agree. In fact, it took me 4 years to buy this K because the "complexity" of it bothered me (T guy). What put me "over the top" was riding in Tim Kelly's K.
Rob
Mike,
Thanks, always good to hear from you.
You (and Charlie) should come up to the New London to New Brighton tour and watch the Fords (and anyone else on this forum). You get to see why Ford became the leading auto manufacturer prior to the T.
Besides, Dave Dunlavy will buy any "T" guy a beer during New London to New Brighton tour who shows up!

Dates, dates we need dates for those who have to request time off from work. J

Congrats....Chip
The tour is Aug. 11.

New London to New Brighton MN (The Antique Car Run) is Aug 8 - 11 this year. Around 50-60 cars attend. It's a great tour, and on Saturday (the main tour, 120 miles) people gather along the route to cheer us on.

From my iPad
It's been wonderful to follow the progress.
Thanks
Rich
That is N*I*C*E.
wow that is a big engine.
great job Rob.
Thanks Rich and Dave. Dean has done a tremendous job getting the engine and chassis together. The engine is 405 cubic inches (compare that with a T at 177 cu in). In fact, one of the reasons I held off this project was due to the complexity of the engine and ignition systems. (I don't have the skill or knowledge to properly restore this car).
It is great to see this fire breathing monster come to life. I hope to have a video of the car completed and driving in two weeks.

Tomorrow the K comes home to Nebraska, if Dean agrees
The 5/16-20 tap came today. The coil box is properly attached. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Dean
What a gorgeous car! I would love to see that thing in person!
