The time has arrived, when all things have fallen in place for me to finally start on my Speedster project.
BUT, I need some help from the Australian forum members in tracking down a chassis, engine/trans, front & rear axle and steering. I'd prefer brass era,(sigh), but not a '26-'27 though.
So if any of you know of the bare bones that I need to start with, available for sale, preferably in the south east, between Sydney & Melbourne, please let me know.
Here's hoping someone can help me make a start here, so I can transfere all of what's in my head into the real deal.
Thanks in anticipation,
Rob
Rob,
I have some spare chassis, engine blocks, diff housings should be able to give you enough to build a speedster.
Am about to leave home to take grandkids back to West Wyalong try me Tuesday
I'm probably the closest to you in Kiama
Rob, I have a restored rolling chassis (steel firewall 22-25) which I need to move on. Also if interested a newly framed turtle deck roadster body too and most panels for same (will separate). I'm in Melbourne eastern suburbs. If you tell me how to send you a private email I'll send some pics if you like. Russell 0400 931 949
How about the T parts for sale on Ebay at Forbes (NSW), for only $20,000.00 you will have all the parts needed to make a basic start!!!
Gentlemen,
Thanks for answering so quickly.
Peter,
I'll be in touch on Tuesday.
Russell,
You've got my interest. My email is sundiesel at hotmail dot com.
Kerry,
yeah...right.
Once again, thank you.
Cheers,
Rob
Rob,
Would you have a Sunshine Harvester diesel stationary engine by any chance?
I saw your email address so I was just wondering.
Cheers

An advert that might be of interest to you, Rob.

Dane,
Thanks for that. I saw that add on eBay right after I started this thread. I'll look more closely at it if all else fails.
Manuel,
Yes and No. I am a bit of a HV McKay buff and have several "Sunshine" engines and other products. Someday, if I'm lucky, I might get to have a "Sundiesel". I've always wanted one, but they are both thin on the ground and heavy on the pocket...not to mention...big.
Well,
Each of the chassis deals I've investigated have got one problem or another which has slowed me down, but I'm a long way from being stopped. So, I'm still on the lookout.
Thanks for all your suggestions and I hope the Aussies who frequent these pages can keep their ears to the ground for me.
Its a pity this thing isnt just around the corner from me though. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300742840817?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m 1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1413
