Is there a source for ready made, Model T, slip covers?
The springs and cushions are good in the '25 Fordor and '27 Tudor but, like most survivors, the upholstery has holes here and there and I'd be perfectly happy to cover them with something.
Any easy, CHEAP, suggestions are welcome.......
It looks like your seat material has the same coloring as my wifes 26 Tudor, gone to a green with green or white stripes, its hard to get that material ( should l say its impossible ) the repro is close but not close enough to repair the original.
slip over seat covers sounds like a good idea to keep the originality but wont they cause more damage over time to the underlining material ???
Cheers David.
David, mine is a gray with green stripes.

I wish someone had LEFT this car green......
Here's proof someone used to make them. I'd like to find a set also.
Dale....looks like someone painted your GREEN Tudor black too......and ours share the same upholstery too.......shot....... LOL
Craig, this is not exactly what you are looking for, but I thought I would post what we did to protect our newly installed upholstery 25 years ago. You may have seen some pictures of covers that the Dealers used to use to protect the customers cars. We found some patterns to make covers on page 263-264 of the Model T Ford Service Bulletins. It is for the Fordor Sedan and appears to be the only one described. I made a paper pattern and my wife purchased some fairly heavy ticking material and sewed it all together. We just made the front seat cover as it is the one that gets the most use. We have it on most of the time and only remove it when the car is on display. It has proved it's worth as the seats are still as good as when we did them all those years ago. Regards, John

The seats today
Here are two more pictures.
John.....THAT just might come in handy!
THANKS!.......
CRAP I wish we had a few minutes to edit...GRRRRRRRR
Do you have that pattern in a high resolution photo?
Craig, the original that I scanned from is not very clear. The page in the Bulletins Book was possibly scanned to start with. I have scanned it once more and increased the ( dpi ) . Too large to post on the Forum. I can email you a copy either in a Large format of 513KB's or an Actual Size 1.1 MB. Just let me know which version you would prefer, and I can send it using the address on your Home Page. Regards, John
Please do John!.......
The BIG one!
When I get it I'll host it on my server so it's available here for those who would like it as well.
And I thought "Slip Cover" was another name for dress.
I learn something new every day!
Here is the high quality version, tuned up so it IS black and white and displays very clearly.......

I posted before I thanked John Page for the high res version.
I have a box a set came in ,if that will help.
Craig,
Thanks for enhancing that copy of the pattern and posting it here for anyone that might have a use for it.
Jack,
Do you mean that you have an original box for these Dealer Covers ?
Regards, John.
John my box is from a seat cover supplier of the day,not Ford.
I found a woven set at a national hot rod show flea. Guy had a bunch and I bought several sets for $5 ea. One set fits the 27 coupe well and the other set fits my 32 tudor. Those old sets show up from time to time at fleas.
I think some of those clear plastic seat covers would look nice. (yuc yuc) ;>)
It seems to me there would be a demand for slip covers rather than spending one's self into oblivion having seats reupholstered........??
Are there any automotive upholstery shops in your area that can do the job like they would have 60 years ago? A seat cover job, slip on, should go pretty fast for someone who knows what they are doing.
