I posted and ad on the MTFCA Classifieds for an copy of the Vintage Ford 1967 Vol. # 2 Issue # 2 I need to complete my collection and have had 3 Scam E-Mails. The last one from a Lucio Ruiz in Canada had the grammar and spelling level of my two year old Granddaughter. One line "i have it in good working condition and in Perfect order" What kind of magazine does he want to send to me? And wants me to send my info to him?

Yes, I got the same from the same dude .. and one from another claiming to be from Canada. I can't knock bad spelling or grammar ... if I did, I wouldn't be able to read my own stuff without a spell checker. If the use phrases out of context ... like yours ... or refer to an add for something pretty specific, and they refer to it as 'your item' , rather than 'your (insert part here) ... then I just delete them, and be on my merry way.

Recently I have started getting much better spelt emails with good grammar and paying more attention to ads but still spam. SOME but only some are starting to get a lot smarter which is concerning

I never get spam when I only post my phone # in ads. I figure after I talk to the person and see that they are real, I can exchange emails then. It works.

It isn't so much grammar or spelling necessarily, but a use of language that indicates that the writer is not a native English speaker. A word or phrase that's just a little (or a lot, sometimes) "off." Perhaps it's because I work with language and translation that I have a fairly good sense of that.

Use Google's Gmail and 99.9% of the spam will be filtered out.

Found Hot mail excellent for spam removal. Last classified ad I wondered where they all went. Finally checked "junk". There they were. I use it only for ads.
