Have a nice day,

Fishy. The "item" thing bothers me most. plus none of the expected questions or requests for pics. I'd blow him off for sure.
Hal,
You listed the price in your ad, and he is asking how much you want for it.....sounds real fishy to me......words like "item" always raise red flags for me.-
Charlie types faster than me.....
Look at this one dated July 8. Same story - same name - same e-mail

Disregard and delete anything that looks like a generic response.

I'll take your item... I mean engine and i will pay you pal with two goats, a camel and three chickens. Deal? Mr. Yanckley hit me up on my ad last week in an e-mail. Can't we all just get along with our T's?
Cut through all the crap and demand in-person payment to you by the buyer with U.S. currency at your bank, where the currency the buyer presents to you can first be authenticated by your bank, when the transaction occurs. It is truly unfortunate that we have come to this point, but as Walter Cronkite famously said, "And that's the way it is."
Otherwise, have the buyer send you a cashier's check drawn on a U.S. bank for the total costs and wait 10 business days until after you have deposited the cashier's check in your bank account before you send the engine to the buyer.
Thanks for the response. I'll just ignore him
"Item" is definitely scam language.
yep ... 'item' is a form letter/auto-responder/mailer thing. If they can't address the 'item' by it's name, then they don't deserve a response. ... even if it WAS legit! (IMHO)
