Built this, it works great. Surprised to find the bearings are not tined. Makes them very easy to pour.
Used a three jaw chuck on the lathe, with a round tipped cutter on the boring bar. With the jig built, can do a set in about an hour.
Bob, just curious as to how you are splitting the babbitt for the 2 halves?
After I cut the bore, I use a coping saw, thread the blade through and use the split as a guide. Then tap it and they fall apart.
