I noticed that the high beams wouldn't work on the left light as I was driving back to the house at dusk. I thought that it might be a bad bulb only to discover that the wire had come out of the plug. I've looked in the Ford manual, as well as on this forum and haven't found how the wire cinches down into the plug. I'm thinking that the plug and thimble are two separate pieces so that way a guy can solder it into the plug, but mine will not come apart. I'd hate to use force and damage it. Any advice? Thanks.
They should spin apart and then you'll find set-screws.

Thanks. I did try twisting it by hand, but didn't force it when it didn't turn. Knowing how it's made helps.
Jim, be very careful not to lose those set screws. As far as I know, they aren't available. Maybe someone has a source for them. I have found a few thimbles that are similar to the ones used on T's, but the screws are larger. Dave
It helps if you solder the ends of the wires before you put them into the plug.
The set screws are. #3. That size is hard to find. #2 and #4 are easy to find.
Thanks guys for the advice. After I received the post from Garnet, it took all of 30 seconds to rewire the headlight. I didn't know how rare those screws were. That's nice to know.
Even if you sat in an old wash tub (like the good ol days) and dropped those screws .... you'd still never find them Jim! Kind of like the tiny ball bearings that come out of old radio tuning verniers - once those fly, they're never to be found again !!
