Model T Ford Forum: Forum 2012: Model T model

I remember seeing a scale model of a model T that was made completely out of brass. Every thing functioned just like a real T, it had a running engine, working transmission, it even had a working parking brake! I would REALLY like to see it again. Does anybody have the URL or link to the thread that the URL was posted in?

Thanks,
Stephen

The first two links in the initial post have some good photos of the 1/16 scale 1912 Torpedo model. The Model was on display in the Conger Clock Museum for a long time until it was sold:

Interesting. Carol is very good friends with the owner there..The Conger St Clock Museaum is about 5 blocks from where I work here in Eugene. Now I wish I had gone in there. I hear they have a lot of interesting things in there.

I've been looking for a decent plastic scale model kit of a brass Model T Touring for a while and, in spite of the car's ubiquity, there seems to be only one (very small and very innacurately-detailed) kit out there. You'd think there'd be dozens. But hey, if you want a nice kit of "My Mother the Car," they're out there.

Bob

Have you seen this one?

Brass T Kit

1/16 scale, about 9" long, unfortunately not too detailed (no Motor), right hand drive. A nice looking kit when assembled however.

Yeah, I've seen that one. The proportions are way off. As a kid, I was never crazy about Lindberg's models. I built Revell airplanes and AMT cars. Those were pretty good. I believe AMT reworked a 1927 Ford to make the "My Mother the Car" model.

Both were good quality kits. I've yet to see a good 1/24th scale kit of a brass T.

Funny thing looking up Model T model:-)

The most amazing Model T model I have ever seen is here (along with a few other cars):
http://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/forums/forum43/viewMessage.asp?id=9345 6&start=93456

He put all the photos of the build in a book here:

Or you can go to this forum and see his work step by step!

(If I remember correctly the forum lets you look at a few pages before you become a member. After you see a few pages of this- You will become a member! Just awesome.)

This kit (from the 60s) is based on a Manchester 2 seater owned by my old friend Eric Bamford and it's not bad, if I remember correctly. Don't have one to look at right now, maybe I'll buy this one for a winter evening project.
