Trying out Kevlar for a change---have been finding lots of grey mush in the screen after each run when I adjust. What is this stuff, and will it finally disappear when I quit having to adjust the bands? I do not think it is old band material, because I took out old bands and drained the oil before replacing with Kevlar. Never seen anything like it. Thoughts?

Kevlar will give you that for a short time and clear, BUT if your brake band slip to far back, you'll be seeing that a fair bit.
I think 5 or 6 minor adjustments should see you done.
David.

I relined the bands in my '27 Tudor with Kevlar and am really pleased.
The only crap I have collected in the screen is definitely from the old, rotten, worn out linings and after having the cover off a second time the collection of crud was minimal.
I have adjusted the low band about 5 times so far being VERY conservative in my adjustments.
The reverse and brake bands have needed one adjustment each which I did when I replaced the adjusting nut locking washers which was the second time the cover was off.

Craig: This stuff does not look like anything I have ever seen in the screen. Will just wait it out like David says. Thanks
