Did you pay the shop that reward like you said you would? Before you start slandering names, get your story stright Bill T. Because you piece of scrap was not all its worth. This was a Victim of Fraud, and you could be charged with defamation and libel,IF THIS AD IS NOT REMOVED IN THE NEXT 24HRS. Mr.Terry, you should be happy to have gotten your piece of scrap metal back. Now I'm the one who is out $300.00 dollars. I'm happy you got it back. You should be more mature about the situation, there is absolutely no reason to post my name, and the name of my business online, as a way of trying to humiliate me, and black list my business. If anyone has any questions requarding this matter, please feel free to contact me @ 425 530-9923

Bobby, I read the post and saw only facts that you were in possession of the car/parts and had offered for sale. The posting did not accuse you of stealing or dealing in stolen goods, and if you inferred that much in reading it was your take. Assuming you are not debating that you had the car and parts and were selling them, perhaps you would care to enlighten us as to how you came into possession of said car and parts? I and others would probably be curious to hear about it. I don't feel like calling you.

I would like to know as well. I don't want bad things for people,I would be intrested in knowing if the police were informed as to how and who it was obtained from.

Gee, here in California receiving stolen property in excess of $1000. in value is considered a felony. I wonder what the laws are in Washington?

I don't see any slander in what Bill wrote. It seems that Robert was in possession of stolen property. If he was reasonably unaware that it was stolen and was forthcoming with the authorities for how it came into his possession and returned that property, I have no problem with him as it would seem he was a victim to the tune of however much he paid for the property and that is unfortunate for him. If he was/is not forthcoming with how he obtained the property, then I have no sympathy for him.

In any case, I'm glad that Bill has gotten at least some of his property back.

Well Mr Sensano, it took a lot of guts on your part to register for this Forum today and post what you did. Being your in the business that your in, you knew when you bought the car and parts that there was something very very wrong and serious about the sellers. I hope you were man enough to give information to the authorities that has or will help them get just rewards for their efforts..
Since you registered for this Forum, look over the posts by T owners and what kind of a close knit group that we are. We are not just Model T owners. Model Ts for us is a way of life.

Language trivia for the day. Many people think that "methinks" is a way of saying "I think," but it's not.

Methinks archaic
: it seems to me
Origin of METHINKS
Middle English me thinketh, from Old English thincth, from (dative of ic I) + thincth seems, from thyncan to seem — more at i, think
First Known Use: before 12th century

OK, Dick: what is the difference between "I think" and "It seems to me?"

This is a close knit group. Over a year ago I had some wheels stolen and described them. I got several replies and they all pointed to the same person that I suspected. Not anyone on this thread.

Ralph, in meaning, not much. Different verbs, though:

"By the way, our modern verb “think” was once two separate Old English verbs: thyncan (to seem or appear) and thencan, whose original meaning, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, may have been “to cause (something) to seem or appear (to oneself).” In Middle English, the two verbs merged into one."

Great for you, Willy T! I also sincerely hope that Bobby S. is only a victim, and not involved otherwise. I'd sure be interested in "the rest of the story..."
