In cruising the net looking at mirrors to replace broken ones, for a set of Victor # 2 lamps I found this company:
http://www.anchoroptics.com/catalog/product.cfm?d=d&id=442&s=thickness
Any thoughts on the 150 mm for $85?
Same price for the metal replacement reflectors sold by the vendors.
Would these mirrors work?

Bump... I'd like to see an answer to this too as I have a pair of #2 Victors without mirrors.
I would contact George Holden and ask him who reproduces glass reflectors.

CARS list gas lamp mirrors. I have no experience with the company but have looked through their catalog. http://www.brassauto.com/cars8.html

I did some measuring last night.
The intact mirror (but cracked) is:
6" in dia and approx 1/2" thick.
Well the 150mm = 5.91" dia and 12mm = .472" thick
I guess the only question would be the focal length?
Do we have any folks that know optics out there?
The way I read their diagram the effective focal length (EFL) would be were the burner would have to be to focus the light. Correct?
If I'm right then this one should work: AX27629
Dia. 150mm Thickness 12mm EFL 150mm Price: $85.00
I'm really thinking I may order 2 and try it.
Wish I could hold one in my hands first....
Larry
Chaffin's has the mirrors listed at $45 a piece. Prices have probably changed a little since their site was last updated but it would definitely be worth giving them a call to find out the current price.

Chris,
Thanks.
Their latest catalog has them at $90 their website needs updating.
I should call them though.... see if they are glass or just the metal reflectors everyone else has.

Notice that the outside diameter of the proposed replacements is cylindrical per the techpub, not conical as originals are. If correct, this presents (2) distinct dilema...a) OEM edge chamfer creates an aesthetic condition where the lens appears to have a concentric outer ring feature. b) The OEM glass is compatible with OEM chamfered clamps. If clamps require redesign making these noticeably incorrect, then I would question the time or money and finished appearance of such a retrofit of these parts. Maybe I'm missing something obvious to others here?

Scott,
Your response is exactly why I posted.
I don't know. And until you can compare each side by side it's a guess at best.
The chamfer edge on the original compared to the possible replacement was my concern.
Hummmm....
Thanks,
Larry
