There was a recent thread about "what did you do on your T today?". That thread got to be pretty long, so I didn't want to add to it.
Today Jon Anderson and I visited the Piquette Plant, while RV and Orig. Smith did research at the Benson Archives. The two of them visited Piquette on Sunday. The 4 of us are here all week doing research at the Archives. The Archives are closed on Mondays, so we went to the Henry Ford Museum then. We aren't exactly working on our T's, but we're having a bunch of Model T fun! I took a bunch of pics, but I don't have any way to download them to my laptop. I'll post some when I get home next week.
Mike, I'm jealous! I bet you found a few "cool ones" so far (not cars, adult beverages ). Enjoy,
Rob
I took a young couple with their two children to a restaurant for their 14th anniversary. They ask two weeks ago if I would take them, I said sure. We took a short(8 mile) scenic tour on the way, now the kids can say they rode in a model T. They offered me money, I said just give it to church.
They loved it.
You can't see much but the original Model T plant is still standing on Woodward Ave. in Detroit. The last time I was there I was working on the side street beside the plant and I am not sure but I believe the side I was on was the end of the assembly line. I stood there and imagined what it looked like back then. The plant is still owned by Ford and to the best of my knowlege is only used for some light storage. There is a metal plate on the front lawn that says "The home of the Model T" and has a small amount of history on it. Have a great time.

Just driving by there is depressing, as is the whole area, which is still burned out from the riots. We went to Greektown, which is still intact for dinner one night. That is what Detroit should still be like. Good food too.
