All who are using these kind of lifters! These went bad, in about 400 miles. All kept coming loose, and some broke, as in the picture, never again!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonder if the valves were hitting the cylinder head? I have a set of those lifters in my '15. It has about 4000 miles maybe more. Never heard of even one breaking. Must be something else contributing to the failure?

I probably would not use them again. Grinding the end of the valve stem takes only a couple seconds and it is never going to fail.

i also think the valves could be hitting the head. either way i will return mine to langs for the ones with the lock nuts. i would use regular ones but my cam will be a ground one.

Have you still got a choice? I was told on a order that the lock nut ones are no longer available.

Travis, I don't know how the valves would hit a Head, the bolts screwed them selves all the way in, NOT out!!!

Kerry, I don't know, but I will have to find out. If we have to start using solid lifters again, we would have to use all new cams!!

Not really. Just cut the valves longer when you make them.

Can the little caps that set on the lifters, to make them longer, still be had? I have found them in motors over the years. And speaking of camshafts, had 4 ground in Dallas for $80, what a deal.

Lash caps are sold Bob but that might be a tough deal trying to hold a lash cap, the valve retainer and the pin all at once? Here are lash caps:

We are in production of the lifters with the lock nuts again, these have the harden bolts and have no problems, Bob

Kohnke: We @ Ford-N-More have had problems with self lockers, and double nut tappets. In all cases the the tappet foot has worn off. Many of the repop tappet feet are not ground flat. Some have been concaved, some have a tit left in the center. Since Egge lost their supplier the quality of adjustable tappets hasn't been great. I recommend inspecting all repop tappets. If they are bad I recommend refacing and putting a slight radius to help promote tappet rotation. As far as the self locking bolt not staying... usually caused because the bolt is extended out too far.

BTW since facing all the bad tappet feet, we have no more failures with the repop tappets.

Not in this case Mike.

We have always butt both ends of the lifters, as none have been found true!!

The problem is the lock bolt it's self.

Thanks Herm.

Bob, will they also have the thin lock not, as the normal thickness won't work, as you don't have enough room for adjustment.

Thanks Herm.
