Cast brass, about 4".

Stamped steel and cast pot metal.

Can you post a pic of the backsides?

I'm thinking they may be Ford AA.

Steve,
They look like the wheel center caps for the heavy wire wheels that were optional on the '28 Ford "AA" trucks.

I have heard that these same wheels were also used on the Lincolns but used a similar center cap with the Lincoln logo.

Mike.

These are among the stuff for sale at this weekend's auction. I didn't take a picture of the backs, but they have tabs like the 26-27 hubcaps. There's an AA for sale, but it doesn't have wire wheels.

Wow! Looks like the real ones are quite a prize. I don't know about the cast repos.

Those are the hockey pucks they use up in Iron Mountain Michigan. Made especially for the 'Flivvers' high school team by the Ford Motor Company. Couldn't get any rubber out of the trees up there. :-)

Mike,
If I remember correctly, the AA wires have a lock ring while the Lincoln wire wheels are drop center. Definitely similar.

I believe it was the wire wheel used on 1931 AA Deluxe type ambulance, hearse & police patrol units that was the same as a Lincoln wire wheel.Even so, there was some slight difference [tyre size & ring?]. The 1928 AA wire wheel with lock ring is more like a large version of the standard Ford '28, '29 wheel. My 2c worth.

Dave Hjortnaes, What makes you think anyone in Northern Michigan can play Hockey? I've watched the Mich Tech Huskies choke year after year and wonder if they'll ever become competitive against schools like The Minnesota Gophers or NDSU Fighting Sioux.

They are 28 AA wire wheel caps. Buy them if you can, they are rare and not available new that I have seen. When I have them I get more for them than the wheels bring.
I have made several sets of adapters to put these wheels on TT trucks. They look real slick, just like the 27 wire wheels on the front, just bigger.
