does anyone know where i can get a diagram of a hand klaxonet hord made in 1915?
i'd like to disassemble and try to repair.
I don't know if any vendors have them but i bought a A-13811 from Snyders and made the diameter smaller, with new holes.

He's looking for a diagram (drawing), not a diaphragm.
The problem is that most of the hand horns have potmetal gear housings that swell and crack with age. Once the potmetal cracks, the gear turns off center or not at all. Other issues are stripped gear teeth, or the diaphragm horn gear contact is worn and needs replacement. Open it up and see what you have. Once the bell and diaphragm is off, you can look inside.
Erik, thanks a lot. Too fast writing, too little thinking... ;-)

i guess i'll just remove bolts and look inside. can't be too complicated.
thanks

They're not complicated at all, they work a lot like those old kid toys where you'd push the plunger and the wheel turns and makes sparks. The only thing you have to careful of, is that the rack, plunger guide and counterweight housing are usually made of pot metal and break really easily. Oil those particular parts really well with a light grade or mineral oil (don't use grease it's too thick).
There is usually some sort of threaded stub (nail) on the diaphragm that makes the sound. That is adjusted by a lock nut. You can either reach down the bell and adjust it with a screw driver and bent box wrench or take the bell off and remove the diaphragm and adjust it that way. Sometimes the nut is rusted onto the threaded stub, mine was, so I broke the nut with a nut breaker and replace it with a brass jam nut. Works just fine now.
Hi Tom
Have a look at this older thread . . .

Might be of some help.

Here is another patent by the same inventor as the one that I posted in the above thread.
I notice that there was no comment or confirmation that the patent I posted in the older
thread was even close, so I might be out in left field on this one as well.
