Dateline: Saturday July 21st, Lexington, KY
Eleanor and I attended the Keeneland Concurs d”Elegance Car Show, our very first. The experience was far more than I imagined. I believe that Eleanor had a far more enjoyable time as she watched over our 1916 Model T Touring car.

Our day began early when we met up with a group of Model “A” guys. We were invited to meet at a local Chick-fil-A close to us and drive with them to the show location, just a few miles away. After some Mini Chicken biscuits and orange juice along with meeting a great group of guys we headed out. A lone “T” in the middle of a bunch of A’s. The group included guy's that I worked with at GTE/VERIZON that I had not seen since retirement.

It was our first open road experience and felt great. Even if only a few miles. Arriving at the show and parking we set up the Model T era tool display and waited. We were both amazed at the attention that our “T” got. As mentioned earlier Eleanor took charge of showing “The LADY EL” (Her name for the T). She talked parents into letting their children sit up front for photos and made their day.

Some indicated that this was not such a good idea but our “T” is to enjoy so that is what we did. There were only a couple of “T’s” in attendance. Some guy with memory problems forgot his camera so right now no pictures. Waiting on some from a friend who was there.

You can bet that we will be at future shows.

Sam and Eleanor

If you could remember the name of the fellow who forgot the camera, you could give him a good chewing out.

I do remember that the first thing to go as I got older was my memory, I forget what the second thing is.
