This is in the new Model T Times:
"For the next few years, as a special incentive to the youth in the Model T Ford hobby, I will donate a rebuilt Holley NH carburetor to 10 applicants, per year that qualify. You must be 16 years or younger. This must be your first Model T Ford project. You should complete most of the work yourself, with or without adult supervision. Send a photo of your project (or pile of parts) and a short essay explaining the project to me, at the address below."
What a neat idea! Good for you, Russ.
A big thanks to Russ! I know he has been offering those for several years. One of us should try and contact him and see if there are any good stories he has to share about one of those carbs. Any one live near him and/or know him well? If so would you consider asking him if he would like to share a story or two? Also pass on to him that others think it is a great idea also.
Also as a group or individual are there some things we might be able to do to encourage and/or help the next generation as well as some of us a little older than that, to consider taking up the hobby?

russ is a master at rebuilding T carbs, has done a few thousand. he has a wonderful collection of model Ts. he still has his fathers model T and he took his driver test in it, and also tought his grandaughter how to drive the T and she took her road test in it several years ago. russ and his grandaughter built HER speedster. she did the work under his supervision. russ did not work on the speedster unless she was there and she did the work. he promotes the T hobbie every chance he gets, taking it to schools and teaching kids about the wonderful model T. hap, i will talk to him and see if i can get him to write a story for the T times about his carb give away. it would be a truley inspiring story iam sure. cudos to russ!
Doug,
That would be great! Thanks!
